Katie has been a fabulous part of the Happy Kinder Parties team since 2017, and since then received hundreds of 5 star reviews left by happy clients, impressed with her energy, professionalism and brilliant way with children.

In 2020 Katie then started started signing when she was approached by the Mum of a young adult with special needs, to give her and her friends something to keep them occupied during Lockdown. Although Katie had heard ‘Makaton’ mentioned before, she had no idea what it was, or what it involved! 

As lockdown continued and the group started meeting up regularly, Katie then enrolled on Makaton courses with the charity and that is where her love for Makaton began, completing her Tutorship in 2022. 

Once life returned back to normality and we were allowed to party again in person, Katie, without thinking, would often start to sign during her parties. She quickly realised that some visual clues were incredibly beneficial for everyone. 

Parties are often quite noisy with music, laughter and chatting, so signing really helped everyone understand what was going on. From there, Katie designed a symbol party plan for those who may benefit from it to get the most enjoyment out of the party!
